Created in collaboration with The Dybdahl Co., the japan collection combines traditional Japanese woodblock prints with our premium writing paper. Each illustration extends across the front and back covers, revealing its full composition when you open the book.

Our special edition debuts the beloved book series featuring printed covers with select illustrations in collaboration with our friends at The Dybdahl Co.
The illustrations are spread across the front and back covers, giving each side its own composition, whilst making a bigger piece when the book is opened.

We were enchanted by these beautifully reimagined illustrations, sourced from antique books found in archives, which brought together unlikely animal pairings and transformed them into delightful and surprising fauna families.

the reef collection
We loved the colourful playfulness of the illustrations as discovered in a book from the early 1800s.
The fish depicted, from left to right, are:
the Blotched Bigeye (Priacanthus Carolinus), the Clown Triggerfish (Balistoides conspicillum) and the Little Longhorn Cowfish (Ostracion Cornutus).

We were struck by the elegant delicacy and powerful simplicity of these Japanese illustrations dating from the early 1800s.
They depict some of the most identifiable motifs in Japanese culture:
Waves off the coast of the island, the imposing Mt. Fuji and the imperial flower, the Chrysanthemum.
